Last Night - words & music by ron leary

We met in spring while leaves were unraveling

A bright, bright green....

Into your eyes is like I’m staring into the site

Of a northern sky....

All the trays are shuffling a dance

To the pounding of our feet

We’re just savouring one last night

   We won’t contemplate until later

All summer long record temperatures as we climbed along

Each body and mind....

We whiled away down by the lake the waves did break

Exposing all truth....

   All the trays....

A chill does bring the end to a summer holiday

We’re packing south....

And the final day it’s unspoken but we’re parting separate ways

We keep things light....

   All the trays....
